Sweet Harmony Cafe & Bakery, located in the heart of thriving Main Street! LOCATION! We are a family business with hopes of sharing our childhood cooking lessons with our community. Trang came to the USA in 1975. She was on one of the last flights out of Vietnam. She and her family had a sponsor who helped their family of 7 get settled. Trang learned English by watching bugs bunny and her absolute favorite Julia Childs on their black & white television. Cooking was always her passion and she always wanted to own her own business. Laura grew up in Hartford. Her mom and grandmother prepared awesome southern meals. She learned how to make pancakes from scratch at 7 years of age. Being the oldest of four children, it was her responsibility to cook dinner while her mom was at work. She confesses that because she liked to experiment with spices, some of the meals didn't taste great, but it provided her an opportunity to learn! Laura and Trang met while working at the same company, became “sister's from other mother's” and realized that they wanted some of the same business goals. After ten years of practicing their recipes, an opportunity came up in Middletown, CT. This turned out to be a wonderful blessing. So from this opportunity, Sweet Harmony Cafe and Bakery was established. Specializing in special events, catering, breakfast, lunch, takeout, coffee, "grab and go", and a meeting place for all.
